OUR SIGNATURE SUITE “VISTA GRANO DE ORO”

 In blog

From the window of this suite you will see part of the Central Valley and one of the tallest buildings in San Jose … around 12 floors! Although not comparable to high-rises in New York it rises high above the skyline here in our capital city.

On a clear day, you can see blue sky and a mountain range that borders the northern part of the valley. The highest peaks are the Barva and Poas volcanoes. Some months ago the Poas volcano was very active, and visible from the Suite window was the column of ash that rose towards the sky. Looking east, you can see the majestic Irazú Volcano, the second highest peak in Costa Rica (3,400 meters). At night, lights decorate the view to the point that it is difficult to determine if the farthest lights are the small houses of the mountain or if they are the stars.

This wonderful view is not the only special thing about this suite. After walking through an internal Victorian courtyard with a fountain, a hallway with a small collection of antique clocks and some Guarias (orchids), the national flower of Costa Rica, and a corridor with ferns on both sides, you being the climb to the suite.

A private staircase winds up to the suite passing the newly renovated Jacuzzi terrace on one side. When you open the door the smell of wood will captivate you. The floor and wall tiles combine perfectly with the panels, furniture and wooden handcrafted ceiling. Right at the back of the suite you have a private Jacuzzi to take in the amazing views while relaxing with a glass of wine. The perfect setting for a honeymoon or anniversary stay. Or as many of our guests have said – just because.
